Yagoona Public School is a centre for lifelong learning for our diverse community. Our dedicated and professional staff work collaboratively to develop and implement quality teaching and learning programs.Our new library features networked ICT workstations and a wonderful collection of books and other media.The school has a number of interacive whiteboards and a connected classroom which enhance learning outcomes and broaden student access to shared curriculum. Our comprehensive sports skills and fitness programs, extensive grassed playground, fixed play equipment and covered basketball court encourage physical activity. Students have access to sporting teams for boys and girls in several team sports including OZTAG, AFL and soccer and can compete each year across the district in an range of team sports as well as swimming, athletics and cross country carnivals. Our students have access to junior, senior and islander dance groups; a drum group and choir; public speaking, debating and drama groups, community languages programs in Arabic, Chinese, Macedonian and Vietnamese, and after hours Arabic and Macedonian language schools. We have several classes which address the learning needs of students with emotional disabilities and students with moderate intellectual disabilities as well as autism, hearing and vision impairment. The school's small but enthusiastic P&C Association assists with fundraising for specific school programs and operates a healthy food canteen.
