The school was established in 1981 as a co-educational comprehensive high school. It was designated as a Technology High School in 1989 and in 1999 the name reverted to Westport High School. A support unit for students with disabilities is integrated into the school. Where possible, students from the support unit are integrated into main stream classes. Additional classes operate for students with learning difficulties and attendance problems. Provision is also made for gifted and talented students within our curriculum.
