2020 Premier's Reading Challenge

PRC Student Site

Welcome to the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge
The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.
The Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is available for all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 9, in government, independent, Catholic and home schools. If you need help using the website and the answer cannot be found on the PRC Support site, please contact us at prc@det.nsw.edu.au

Entry of 2019 Student Reading Records has now closed
If your school has completed Student Reading Records (SRR) that have not been validated, please email the PRC team ASAP to organise for these records to be validated.
If you have incomplete SRRs that need to be entered and validated, you will need to submit a Post-Challenge Validation Application. This requires principal support, and delayed applications may mean students will not receive certificates and/or medals until Term 1 2020.
Certificates and medals for successful completion of the 2019 PRC will be available in Term 4 for all students whose 2019 SRR has been validated successfully.

2019 Author And Illustrator Showcase
We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2019 Author and Illustrator Showcase, a collection of interviews with some of the best Australian and overseas authors who were part of the 2019 Sydney Writers' Festival program. You can check them out on the Arts Unit Digital Engagement site, along with past year's interviews!

Drawing with Aura!
Author and illustrator Aura Parker invited us into her studio recently. Come and check it out, and join us in a guided illustration workshop, where you can create your very own Read Back Spider from the 2019 PRC poster!
